HERE’S OUR MAGIC MOTTO

We are a collaborative hub at the intersection of science, art, and humanity, carving a new path for the future of environmental communication. Our mission is to change the way conservationists approach the media and connect creators with projects they are passionate about.

Hi, I’m dailyn!

I am Dailyn Souder, a dedicated conservation biologist and filmmaker with a deep-rooted passion for environmental advocacy. Holding a Bachelor's Degree in Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology from Colorado State University, coupled with Associates degrees in Cinematography and Post Production, I have carved a niche in conservation communications, bringing over three years of specialized experience to the field.

My passion extends beyond the environment; it's about people and the power we collectively hold to transform landscapes and unite for global good. As a staunch advocate for women's rights, I am deeply committed to causes in social justice as well as environmental issues confronting deforestation and biodiversity loss. My work speaks to entrepreneurs, small business owners, and nonprofits in the environmental sector, resonating strongly with Gen Z and Millennials.

Storytelling is at the heart of my communication approach, skillfully woven through public speaking, writing, and photography. My transformative experiences in conservation include  working with indigenous Maasai women in Kenya that has profoundly shaped my perspective on human-wildlife conflicts, as well as partnering with artisanal fishermen in Sinaloa as they transition from poachers to citizen scientists. These highlight the personal and controversial nature of conservation. I strive to bring these nuanced, real-world narratives to the forefront of my advocacy.

My ultimate goal is to educate and drive policy change, offering a grounded, relatable outlook on conservation issues. I am continuously expanding my expertise in blogging, photography, and filmmaking, with a keen interest in developing my skills in SEO and graphic design.

Currently engaged with Osa Conservation and Oekologie Media, my focus is on providing tools and resources to give voice to your work. Meanwhile in my personal life I am working on promoting sustainable, zero-waste practices that challenge conventional consumerism. Additionally, my work in the LGBTQ space, creating impactful film narratives, underscores my belief in the transformative power of self-expression in creating a safer, more inclusive world.

your values matter

These are ours

Intentional optimism

It is time to move away from eco-pessimism and guilt as a way to enforce change. Instead, we choose to highlight the positives and demonstrate how change is possible when we all contribute to finding solutions to our greatest problems.

intersectional collaboration

Environmental justice requires an intersectional and interdisciplinary approach. We are building a network of global citizens looking to make the world a more equitable place by amplifying the stories and people that have long been underrepresented.

genuine authenticity

Art and science have mostly been valued as mutually exclusive, but here they come together to achieve a common goal. We are passionate and unapologetic in our pursuit for good art and good stories from good people.

sustainable creativity

Art has a way of speaking to people in a way that data and statistics cannot. Even still, we are mindful of the impact we can have on the world around us. That’s why our films and content are produced to a high ethical standard and involve sustainable practices.

why here? why now?

When it was my turn to stand before the tenured college professors that were about to determine whether or not I finish college, I had to be honest in admitting that I didn’t want to do research. I said that out loud and felt as if I’d just betrayed the science community as a whole.

In college, conservation biology became my full purpose. However, as I’d realized far too late in my studies, this degree puts you strictly on the path of academia. Publish or perish in this field. After my treasonous admission, I was met by my professor who praised me for my candor, but seriously pressed me with a follow up to her original question: what did I want to do in conservation? The answer felt taboo to admit. I wanted to make films.

Here I was, with 6 years of upper level statistics and biochemistry under my belt and I wanted to do a complete 180 and pick up a camera instead. I had to prove to myself that this is what I really wanted. So at the beginning of 2021, I packed what I could into the back of my friend’s Subaru and moved to one of the most biodiverse parts of the West: Baja California Sur.

I became the resident documentarian for a local marine biologist. Over the course of 5 months, I fell in love with the process of piecing together the story of how artisanal fishermen are saving sea turtles in the Pacific. Since that experience, I have been working to find ways to archive and share the stories of people around the world that are giving their all to take care of the planet and the creatures we share it with.

Through the power of visual storytelling and the unique tools we have to communicate globally, I believe that we can protect the vulnerable by exposing communities to the land, the wildlife, and the cultures that need our help the most. Visual storytelling is how we communicate and it’s important to learn that language.
